How Oxfam is working in Fiji

Oxfam works in partnership with local organisations in Fiji to help communities prepare for climate disasters, strengthen their resilience, and advocate for more equal systems. Our focus is on long-term solutions that put people in charge of their futures.

Preparing for disasters

Through the AHP Disaster READY program, supported by the Australian Government, we’re helping build disaster preparedness across Fiji. In collaboration with the Women in Fisheries Network – Fiji, we support women-led climate adaptation efforts that improve food security, protect marine resources and boost local leadership.

Amplifying the Pacific voice

Oxfam is part of a broader regional effort to ensure Pacific voices shape global climate decisions that impact them so strongly.

Through the PACCCIL project (Pacific Climate Change Collaboration, Influence and Learning), we work alongside regional partners to amplify community perspectives in global climate negotiations by supporting advocacy that reflects the real experiences and priorities of people in the Pacific.
